This class features gentle movements to mobilise, stretch, and strengthen the whole body in a relaxed and easy manner. The use of breathing and relaxation techniques will leave you feeling wonderfully calm and peaceful and give you simple tools to use at home to help reduce stress and anxiety.
I combine the yoga with some seated resistance band exercises to help increase the strength of muscles and bones. I used to teach these invaluable exercises when I delivered Falls Prevention Training. In addition to targeting key fracture sites such as wrists, hips, thighs, and the spine, these exercises also help build functional strength to make everyday activities more manageable.
There is the option to stand for very brief periods of time to encourage hip and lower back mobility and also to work on improving balance.
