This class is equally well-suited to beginners as to those who enjoy a gentle, relaxed style of yoga.
The class includes some floorwork.
Each class starts with some simple movements to loosen up and warm the body. I then guide the class through a selection of simple postures and sequences.
Each class may have a slightly different focus, but key muscles and joints are gently mobilised, stretched, and strengthened each week. Clear, simple instructions allow even complete beginners to practice in a safe and relaxed manner. Explanations are given to help all students understand why we do what we do. The use of visualisations and affirmations help make the practice even more powerful.
I teach basic breathing, relaxation, and meditation techniques which can also be used as standalone practices which are helpful in everyday life.
I also introduce some basic elements of yoga philosophy for those who like to deepen their understanding of yoga.
Modifications are suggested throughout the class for your safety, comfort, and enjoyment. There are plenty of opportunities to choose easier or more challenging options depending on your ability and how you are feeling on any day.
